Legislation as an opportunity? How business can utilise incoming regulations to drive effective action
Whether it is the EU Green Deal, the UK Plastic Packaging Tax, or any one of the proposed and incoming pieces of legislation, plastics and packaging are firmly in the headlights of regulators around the world. Interestingly, brands, retailers, manufacturers, and recyclers seem to be in agreement with incoming regulation. In June 2021, over 100 companies released a statement advocating for extended producer responsibility (EPR) for the packaging industry.
This session will provide a snapshot of the legislative picture in plastics and packaging. Rather than worrying about compliance, we’ll assess how regulation can be viewed as an opportunity for business. We’ll discuss how brands can adapt practices and make the most of renewed incentives to deliver effective action at scale.
