How modern slavery regulation, reporting and risks make the business case more compelling

09:10 - 10:15
Outside the UK there’s also serious activity in Finland, Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Australia and elsewhere. For example, on 29 November 2018, the Modern Slavery Bill 2018 passed both houses of the Parliament of Australia. It will soon become law with an anticipated effective date of 1 January 2019. In our opening session we’ll discuss the emerging/current requirements for business in these jurisdictions, how they overlap or contrast, and how legal risk is evolving and growing.

We will also look at Board level engagement in providing resources to tackle slavery, forced labour and human trafficking.  How do you demonstrate a business case for the cost of modern slavery due diligence to revenue-minded executives?

After 45 minutes, our speakers will deliver their key tips on how they would make the business case for company action in spite of financial pressures in a board meeting. Audience members will be invited to take part and have their questions answered.
