Effective due diligence: Opportunities for business to manage and mitigate material risks

10:00 - 10:45
A significant current trend in legislation is towards mandatory due diligence. What’s more, due diligence is recognized to reduce material human rights risk and provide tangible value to business.  This session will explore what good due diligence really looks like in practice. We’ll pull on examples from businesses in different sectors and identify where the opportunities for improvement lie. We will ask our panel:

  • What does effective due diligence look like in practice?
  • Proven examples of companies implementing due diligence programs that drive better outcomes for workers
  • How must due diligence approaches change in line with emerging legislation and company requirements?
  • Private and public sector working together to scale-up effective human rights due diligence
