Breaking a sustainability silo: How fashion can accelerate progress via cross-industry conversations

14:10 - 14:50
Sustainability isn’t a one-(wo)man operation anymore. Most brands have a dedicated team, varying levels of resources, roadmaps, and public goals associated with sustainability commitments – a great step in the right direction. But the fashion industry still has a lot to learn. In this session, we’ll speak with cross-industry sustainability champions to dissect the challenges and opportunities in building out sustainability priorities. We’ll assess how to cultivate a culture where sustainability is baked into all corporate goals rather that sitting on its own island.

We’ll ask:

  • How should departments be structured to ensure sustainability conversations extend beyond the  sustainability team? How can leadership facilitate that shift in internal ideologies?
  • What key learnings can the fashion industry take from other industries to accelerate its own progress? What’s worked and what hasn’t?
